A magnificent locomotive towards the end of it’s career. ‘Princess Coronation’ Pacific No.46256 ‘Sir William A. Stanier, F.R.S’ stands ready for duty at Crewe North engine sheds, C1961. This, the penultimate Stanier Pacific was built at Crewe in December 1947 and withdrawn from service by British Railways in October 1964.
